PHOENIX- During its approach to Phoenix, an American Airlines (AA) Airbus A319, operating flight AA761 from San Jose, California, to Phoenix, Arizona (USA), encountered a bird strike that impacted the aircraft’s nose cone.
Despite this incident, the airplane managed to land safely on runway 07R at Phoenix.
American Airlines Bird Strike
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provided information that the aircraft encountered a bird strike, resulting in a dent on the nose cone in Phoenix, AZ.
The aircraft involved in the incident is Airbus A319-100, registered as N836AW. According to Planespotters.net, the aircraft is 17.9 years old and was delivered to US Airways.
Further, the incident took place on 28 August 2023.
Similar Incident
On August 12, 2023, an Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines (DL) flight from Atlanta Airport (ATL) to Key West (EYW) operated by Airbus A319 experienced a bird strike upon landing at Key West Airport.
Further, the airline currently operates four daily flights between ATL and EYW.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the incident and stated, “A Delta A319 aircraft encountered a bird strike upon landing, resulting in damage to the aircraft’s nose in Key West, Florida.”
