HONG KONG- India’s largest carrier, IndiGo (6E), a subsidiary of InterGlobe Aviation, announced on August 23 the resumption of nonstop flights connecting New Delhi (DEL) and Hong Kong (HKG).
This route enhances the connections between these two vibrant cities. Further, it highlights the crucial role of Hong Kong as a pivotal business and travel hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Scheduled to launch on October 5, the daily direct flights are set to begin operations.
IndiGo Resume Delhi to Hong Kong Flights
Vinay Malhotra, IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales, expressed,
“We are thrilled to reintroduce our daily nonstop flights connecting Delhi and Hong Kong, commencing this October. In recent months, the Asia-Pacific region has observed a remarkable resurgence in air travel demand and passenger traffic, indicating a dynamic rebound.”
Hong Kong, often called the ‘Pearl of the Orient,’ is a lively Chinese special administrative region. Renowned for its nightlife, shopping opportunities, and diverse culinary scene, it also serves as a thriving business center, attracting entrepreneurs from around the world.
Puneet Kumar, the Director of South Asia and Middle East at the Hong Kong Tourism Board, remarked,
“We eagerly welcome back IndiGo’s connectivity between India and Hong Kong. This connection will provide enhanced accessibility for travelers from various parts of India to experience our vibrant and diverse city. They can enjoy a range of offerings, including world-class museums, historic architecture, new attractions, exceptional dining, lively nightlife, and, apart from its iconic skyline, rejuvenating hiking opportunities amidst picturesque green landscapes.”
Khajuraho as 80th Destination
Starting operations on October 10, these well-considered routes are aimed at enhancing connectivity and accessibility, aligning with IndiGo’s mission of seamlessly connecting individuals with various destinations, as highlighted by airline officials.
In response to strong demand from both leisure and spiritual travelers in the region, IndiGo has introduced improved connectivity to Varanasi.
The direct link between Varanasi and Khajuraho is set to reinforce domestic travel connections between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Through these newly established routes, the airline aims to enhance travel options for passengers journeying between Khajuraho and Varanasi temple towns, thus expanding its domestic network.
