FRANCE- European planemaker Airbus has shared the most awaited June 2023 Orders and deliveries breakup; this includes the details about IndiGo (6E) record 500 plane order breakup.
India’s largest carrier, IndiGo (6E), placed the historical and record order for 500 Airbus A320 family aircraft on the first day of the Paris Air Show 2023.
With the deal, the total number of Airbus aircraft ordered by 6E now reaches an impressive 1,330. Further solidifying its position as the world’s largest customer for the A320 Family.
IndiGo Airbus Order Breakup
IndiGo Airbus deal stands as the largest single transaction ever recorded in the aviation industry. This feat was earlier achieved by another Indian carrier, Air India (AI) when it placed 470 aircraft orders.
According to Airbus’ June 2023 statistics, IndiGo Airlines have a firm order for 500 A320 family aircraft. This includes 125 Airbus A320neo and 375 A321neo. Subsequently, Airbus will finalise the split between A320neo and A321neo in the later stages.
Furthermore, the A321neo also includes A321LR and A321XLR. However, the exact breakup of this is yet to be revealed by Airbus and Indian airline.
Apart from that, Airbus has also provided the breakup of the Air India 220 Airbus plane order breakup. The Tata-backed carrier has placed orders for both narrow and widebody Airbus planes.
Airbus has confirmed the six Airbus A350-900 and 34 A350-1000 orders from Air India. Furthermore, the six A350-900s will be delivered in the coming months as per the schedule we mentioned.
Air India has placed a firm order for 140 A320neo and 70 A321neo. Once again, further split up is yet to be revealed by them.
Airbus June 2023 Orders and Deliveries
The leading commercial planemaker reported 902 gross orders and 72 delivered to 48 customers. So far, in 2023, the company has delivered 316 narrowbody and widebody aircraft to 73 customers worldwide.
In 2023, Airbus received net order of 971 single-aisle planes, including A220s, A319s, A320s, and A321s. Subsequently, it has a pending order of 109 widebody planes, including A330s and A350s.
Airbus anticipates strong orders in 2023 and has almost completed the slots until 2030. While few widebody slots are remaining, which can be fulfilled in the coming days.
