PARIS- India’s youngest carrier Akasa Air (QP), has announced an order for four additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets, solidifying its position as a rapidly expanding player in the aviation market.
The order is unveiled at the Paris Air Show, highlighting the airline’s continued growth and commitment to serving the fast-growing Indian market.

Since its launch in 2022 with its first 737-8 aircraft, Akasa Air has experienced remarkable success, quickly expanding its market share and fleet.
With the addition of these four new jets, the airline’s order book now stands at 76 aircraft, including 23 737-8s and 53 high-capacity 737-8-200 airplanes. This fleet expansion will support the carrier’s domestic growth and pave the way for its entry into international routes.
Vinay Dube, Founder, and CEO of Akasa Air, expressed enthusiasm about the latest order, stating, “As the world’s fastest-growing airline, we are excited to add four more Boeing 737-8 airplanes into our fleet.
“These aircraft and our existing order of 72 jets will play a crucial role in our expansion plans over the next four years. While providing our passengers with a comfortable and environmentally conscious flying experience,” added Dube.

The 737 MAX family provides Akasa Air with improved fuel efficiency and extended range compared to older-generation aircraft.
The airline takes a significant step towards sustainable operations by reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions by 20%. Subsequently, the 737 MAX offers a quieter flying experience, with a 50% smaller noise footprint.
