An upsurge of excitement has been seen among regional NGOs and Canada’s enormous Punjabi diaspora with the introduction of Neos Airline’s one-stop trip from Amritsar to Toronto.
Flying from Punjab to Toronto used to be exceedingly tiresome because it required more than one stop. One of the largest Indian diasporas exists in Canada, with 80% of its members hailing from the Punjab state.
There are reportedly up to 1 million Punjabis living in Canada, making up close to 3% of the population. Thus, the introduction of a nonstop service between Amritsar and Toronto is a huge event.
