The previously announced deal for 200 737 MAX aircraft has been successfully renewed by Vietjet and Boeing, the world’s largest maker of aircraft. The agreement was struck in the United Kingdom at the renowned Farnborough International AirShow.
Thai Vietjet, a Vietjet affiliate in Thailand, will get the first 50 aircraft. The airline will use international financing to invest in a cutting-edge fleet. Currently, Thai Vietjet is one of Thailand’s top domestic carriers and is well-liked by Thais.
In accordance with the contract, Boeing is obligated to provide technical assistance and training to Vietjet in order to guarantee the greatest levels of effectiveness, dependability, and accessibility.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Vietjet to provide affordable passenger service in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation regions. The 737 MAX will help Vietjet achieve its aim of expanding its route network in Asia because of its efficiency, adaptability, and competence”
John Bruns, Vice President, India & Southeast Asia Sales & Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said
Boeing and Vietjet earlier agreed to buy 200 B737 Max aeroplanes. A exceptional offer for one of the most advanced aircraft types available at the time, the first order for 100 B737 Max aircraft was made public in 2016. In order to achieve the airline’s continuous growth plan for expanding its flight network and worldwide connectivity, the parties upped the overall order to 200 aircraft in 2019.
The agreement reached today is a significant move for both Vietjet and Boeing, according to Vietjet’s managing director Dinh Viet Phuong.
It reaffirms the commitment of both parties to maintain the expansion of Vietjet’s international flight network at a higher capacity, providing our customers with more thrilling travel opportunities in the post-pandemic period. At one of the biggest aviation events in the world, the agreement also sends a statement about the strong and long-lasting recovery of Vietjet, the largest private airline in Vietnam, and its regional partners.
