Due to heavy rain and strong winds early this morning, several parts of Delhi and the neighbouring areas lost power.
Inclement weather also caused flight delays at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, with some airlines asking passengers to check their flight status before arriving at the airport.
"Flight operations at Delhi airport have been hampered by poor weather. Passengers should contact the airline directly for the most up-to-date flight information "The Delhi Airport sent out a tweet.
SpiceJet warned that inclement weather in Delhi could affect airport departures and arrivals, and that travellers should check their flight status.
“All departures/arrivals and subsequent flights may be impacted due to poor weather in Delhi (DEL).” Passengers should monitor their flight status,” the airline tweeted.
IndiGo also issued a travel warning to its clients, advising them to allow extra time for travel to the airport.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted that thundershowers with moderate intensity rain and gusty gusts of 60-90 km/h would continue to occur over and adjacent to the whole Delhi and NCR region during the next two hours.
Strong gusts and heavy rain uprooted trees in sections of Delhi, causing traffic congestion.
The impact on susceptible structures, kutcha dwellings, traffic, and visibility is expected, according to the IMD, who advises people to stay indoors and avoid travel if at all possible.
