Fleet Expansion and Future Plans
On April 29, American welcomed two Boeing 787-9s at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), registered as N846AN and N845MD, with plans to integrate 30 such aircraft by 2029.
The airline aims to boost lie-flat and Premium Economy seating by 50% by decade’s end, reflecting a commitment to premium travel.
Beyond the 787-9, Flagship Suite® seats will grace new Airbus A321XLR aircraft and retrofitted Boeing 777-300ERs, phasing out Flagship First cabins for more lie-flat options.
