DHAKA- A passenger boarding bridge (JetBridge) collapsed onto a Kuwait Airways (KU) Boeing 777-300ER at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka, causing significant structural damage to the aircraft’s door and fuselage.
The incident occurred at 2:30 am, one hour after Kuwait Airways flight KU283 landed. The bridge’s sudden collapse happened after passenger disembarkation, with only the flight crew remaining onboard.

A Delta Air Lines (DL) Boeing 767 sustained minor engine damage after colliding with a jetbridge at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) on November 3, 2024. The incident occurred as flight DL125 arrived from Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).
“The aircraft encountered the jetway resulting in minor damage to the engine exterior,” a Delta spokesperson confirmed. “We apologize to our customers for their delay in deplaning.”
The aircraft, a 25.5-year-old Boeing 767-300 bearing registration N1605, carried 211 passengers and 11 crew members. Delta has removed the aircraft from service for maintenance assessments.
This incident follows a similar jetbridge-related event at Dublin Airport (DUB) in July 2023. An American Airlines (AA) Boeing 787 Dreamliner suffered damage when an airbridge collapsed near Terminal 2.
The structural failure ripped off a door from the aircraft, registered as N812AA, as it prepared to disembark passengers arriving from Chicago O’Hare (ORD).
Officials attributed the Dublin incident to a technical malfunction in the connector’s support structure. No injuries occurred in either incident.
