PARIS- Flag carrier Air France (AF) flight AF328 from Paris (CDG) to Ottawa (YOV), Canada, declared an emergency and diverted back to CDG.
The French carrier operates one daily flight between CDG and YOV. The airline deploys its Airbus A330 aircraft to serve this sector. Further, the exact reason for this diversion is unknown, but we will keep you posted once we have official information.
Air France Canada Emergency
According to FlightRadar24, the flight took off at around 11:23 AM UTC and after being airborne for almost one hour, the flight crew declared an emergency. At the time of emergency, the flight was over the ocean and near UK’s coastal region.
The flight than turned back toward Paris and landed safely at around 1:10 PM UTC, almost two hours later from its departure.
The flight is operated by Airbus A330-200 having registration F-GZCG. Further it is a 21 year old aircraft and is powered by two GE engines.
By looking at the data from FR24, it looks like a medical emergency, but this is mere a speculation and we will wait for an official confirmation.

Earlier, in August 2023, Air France (AF) flight from Paris (CDG) to Singapore (SIN) operated with Boeing 777 made an emergency landing at Delhi (DEL).
According to FR24, Air France flight AF256 took off from Paris (CDG) at around 7:18 PM UTC. After being airborne for almost seven hours and 30 minutes, the flight crew reported some sort of emergency.
Following this, the flight crew decided to make a diversion to Delhi (DEL). At around 3:34 AM UTC, it landed safely at Delhi International Airport.
The aircraft involved in the incident is a Boeing 777-300ER, registered as F-GSQF. Further, it is an 18.9 years old aircraft equipped with GE90 engines.
After two hours on ground at Delhi, the flight again took off and landed safely in Singapore.
