The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has mandated that airlines, helicopter operators, and chartered plane services keep passenger window shades closed during critical flight phases at defence airfields.

India’s DGCA has closed 32 airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, for civilian flights until May 15, due to India-Pakistan tensions.
Airlines including IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet cancelled 430 flights at 27 airports, including Srinagar and Amritsar, closed until May 10, 2025.
According to projections from the ACI, India will surpass China in air passenger traffic growth rate by 2026.
India, which recently overtook Brazil and Indonesia to become the third-largest domestic market aims to have around 300 Airports by 2047.
The government is contemplating the operation of newly established airports within the State, which have been entirely funded by the State itself, rather than entrusting them to the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Over 100 flights of Sri Lankan airlines have been refueled by India’s gas and petroleum refineries company, Bharat Petroleum at Indian airports as a help to the country reeling under its worst economic crisis and facing fuel lack.
