BANGKOK- Etihad Airways (EY) has introduced its Airbus A380 superjumbo on flights between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, marking the aircraft’s first arrival in Thailand and expanding the airline’s premium travel offering in Southeast Asia. The daily service connects Zayed International Airport (AUH) with Bangkok (BKK), adding capacity ahead of the peak winter travel season and bringing Etihad’s flagship cabin products to one of its major leisure destinations.
The launch also marks the Thailand debut of The Residence, Etihad’s exclusive three-room private suite accommodating up to two guests. The aircraft offers four cabin classes, including The Residence, First Apartments, Business and Economy, strengthening connections through Abu Dhabi for travellers flying between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe.

Etihad A380 Cabin Features
The Airbus A380 brings several premium cabin products to the Bangkok route, led by The Residence, a 125-square-foot private suite designed for up to two passengers.
It includes a separate living room, a double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with a full-height shower, alongside dedicated cabin crew, fine dining and premium amenities.
The First cabin features nine private First Apartments, each with a reclining leather chair and a separate ottoman that converts into an 80.5-inch bed. Passengers also receive access to an onboard shower room, premium dining and a 24-inch entertainment screen.
Etihad’s upper deck includes 70 Business seats that convert into 80-inch lie-flat beds, with direct aisle access and access to The Lobby, an onboard lounge and bar.
The Economy cabin accommodates 415 passengers, with seats offering 32 inches of legroom, adjustable headrests, 11.1-inch entertainment screens and USB charging.
The deployment follows Etihad’s introduction of daily A380 services between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo in June 2026, expanding the superjumbo’s presence in Asia. The airline says the Bangkok launch will increase capacity during the winter travel season and strengthen connections between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe.
