SINGAPORE- Singapore Airlines (SQ) has unveiled its next-generation KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, featuring 4K displays, Bluetooth headphone connectivity, spatial audio and a redesigned interface. The announcement also provides fresh glimpses of the airline’s upcoming First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy cabins ahead of its planned November 2026 travel experience reveal.
The upgraded system will be introduced on 41 Airbus A350 aircraft undergoing cabin retrofits from 2027 and on the airline’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 fleet. However, the rollout will be limited initially, and passengers travelling in Premium Economy and Economy on the refitted A350s will not receive all the hardware upgrades planned for the newer aircraft.

Singapore Airlines New KrisWorld Features
Singapore Airlines’ next-generation KrisWorld will offer more than 2,500 entertainment options, representing an increase of approximately 30% from the more than 1,900 titles available on the existing system.
The expanded selection will include films, television programmes, music and podcasts, with content refreshed monthly.
The entertainment library will feature content from Apple TV, BBC, CNA, HBO Max, iQIYI and Paramount+. Passengers will also have access to BBC News and Sport 24 live television channels, giving travellers more options during long-haul flights.
The redesigned interface aims to make it easier for passengers to find and manage their entertainment. Larger icons, clearer menus and improved search and filtering functions will simplify navigation, while category shortcuts will help users access their preferred content more quickly.
A mini-player will allow passengers to continue watching a programme in a smaller window while browsing other entertainment options. A flight information sidebar will display details such as the time remaining until arrival and destination weather without requiring passengers to stop their current programme.
The system will also introduce Kids’ Mode, which provides children with a simplified interface and a curated selection of films, television programmes and music. These features are designed to make the entertainment system more accessible to passengers travelling with families.
KrisFlyer members will be able to sign in to access personalised recommendations, save favourite titles and resume programmes from where they stopped on a previous flight.
The system will also display onward Singapore Airlines connection information, including terminal and gate details for connecting flights departing from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).
Although personalised entertainment is already available through the airline’s existing myKrisWorld service, the new system adds further features aimed at improving the passenger experience.
First Class and Business Class travellers will also be able to save preferred seat positions for dining, relaxing and sleeping, while First Class passengers can save personal lighting preferences.

4K Screens And Audio
The new KrisWorld system will introduce larger, higher-resolution displays, although screen specifications will vary by aircraft and cabin.
On the refitted Airbus A350 long-haul aircraft, Business Class passengers will receive 22-inch 4K OLED screens, compared with the 18-inch displays used in the existing Business Class product.
The Airbus A350 ultra-long-range (ULR) fleet will also receive 22-inch 4K OLED screens in Business Class and 32-inch 4K displays in First Class. These upgrades will bring sharper images and larger viewing areas to the airline’s premium cabins.
The Boeing 777-9 will feature a different configuration. Its First-Class passengers will receive 32-inch 4K displays, while Business Class travellers will have 20-inch 4K screens. Premium Economy passengers will receive screens measuring up to 16 inches, and Economy Class screens will measure up to 13 inches.
Singapore Airlines has also confirmed 4K OLED displays for Premium Economy and Economy on selected Boeing 777-9 aircraft. The airline has not indicated that every aircraft in the fleet will have identical display specifications.
Spatial audio will be available across all cabins on the three aircraft types covered by the new system. The technology is designed to create a more immersive listening experience through headphones.
Bluetooth connectivity, however, will depend on the aircraft and cabin. On the refitted A350 long-haul aircraft, the feature will be limited to Business Class, while the A350 ULR will offer it in First and Business Class.
The Boeing 777-9 will provide Bluetooth headphone pairing across all cabins, allowing passengers to use their own compatible wireless headphones.
First Class passengers will also receive Bang & Olufsen wireless headphones with active noise cancellation. Business Class and Premium Economy passengers will have active noise-cancelling headphones, while Economy Class passengers will continue to receive wired earphones.
The charging arrangements will also vary. The Boeing 777-9 will feature USB-C ports, with wireless charging pads for First and Business Class passengers.
The refitted A350s will receive USB-C charging in their upgraded premium cabins, but Singapore Airlines has not confirmed the same hardware upgrade for refreshed Premium Economy and Economy seats.

Fleet Rollout And Cabins
The next-generation KrisWorld system will be installed on 34 Airbus A350 long-haul aircraft and seven A350 ULR aircraft as they undergo cabin retrofits.
The first refitted A350 long-haul aircraft is expected to return to service in the first quarter of 2027, while Singapore Airlines has not committed to a start date for the A350 ULR retrofit programme.
The airline is targeting completion of the A350 retrofit programme by the end of 2030. The Boeing 777-9 will receive the new system directly from the factory, with its first delivery still expected in 2027, Mainly Miles reported.
The upgrade will not extend across Singapore Airlines’ entire passenger fleet. The Airbus A380, Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 787-10, medium-haul A350 and Boeing 737-8 MAX are not currently included in the KrisWorld retrofit plan.
Passengers on those aircraft will therefore continue to use the existing entertainment system unless the airline announces further changes.
The A350 retrofit will also bring different levels of improvement to the cabins. First and Business Class will receive the more extensive hardware upgrades, while Premium Economy and Economy seats will be refreshed rather than replaced.
Passengers in those cabins will still benefit from the redesigned interface, spatial audio and expanded entertainment selection, but Singapore Airlines has not confirmed new 4K screens, Bluetooth connectivity or USB-C charging for them on the refitted A350s.
The Boeing 777-9 will provide a more comprehensive upgrade across all four cabin classes, with new Premium Economy and Economy seats as well as the larger displays and Bluetooth connectivity.
The distinction means that the onboard experience will depend not only on the cabin booked but also on the aircraft operating the flight.
The airline’s announcement also includes a new wellness planner featuring sleep and meditation tracks, breathing exercises, light in-seat stretches and articles about healthy living. First and Business Class passengers will receive additional suggestions for seat positions and lighting, while passengers across all cabins will see beverage recommendations.
The new entertainment system forms part of Singapore Airlines’ wider plan to enhance its long-haul travel experience. The airline has separately announced changes to onboard dining and amenities, with the broader package scheduled to be unveiled in November 2026.
Singapore Airlines is also planning to introduce Starlink satellite connectivity progressively on its Airbus A380 and refitted A350 long-haul and ULR aircraft from early 2027.

Bottom Line
The programme is expected to cover 53 aircraft, with completion targeted by the end of 2029. The airline has not confirmed whether the Boeing 777-9 will use StarlinkStarlink Wi-Fi.
The new KrisWorld system will therefore bring substantial improvements to entertainment, personalisation and onboard wellness, but its benefits will reach passengers gradually.
The first A350 retrofits and future 777-9 deliveries will determine when travellers can experience the upgraded system, while much of the existing fleet will retain its current setup.
