ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) Flight 7, an Airbus A350, was taxiing for departure at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Tuesday when its left wingtip “clipped” an Air Canada (AC) Boeing 777.
Air Canada Flight AC 785 had arrived from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and the aircraft was being towed when it stopped short of its gate. The FAA said the Delta aircraft’s wingtip clipped the horizontal stabilizer of the Air Canada plane.

Delta and Air Canada Aircraft Collided
The incident occurred at about 10:30 AM local time at Los Angeles International Airport. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it was investigating the contact between the two aircraft.
According to the FAA, Delta Air Lines Flight 7 was taxiing for departure when its left wingtip made contact with the horizontal stabilizer of Air Canada Flight AC 785.
The Air Canada aircraft was being towed when it stopped short of its gate, according to the FAA. Both airlines separately confirmed that their aircraft made contact.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
Delta said 275 customers and 15 crew members were on board its Airbus A350 when the aircraft made contact with the Air Canada Boeing 777.
The airline said safety remained its top priority and apologized to customers for the experience and delays to their travel following the incident.
Delta also said its maintenance crews and airport teams would assess the aircraft to determine the extent of any required work.

Air Canada Takes 777 Out of Service
Air Canada said it was taking the Boeing 777 involved in the incident out of service for inspection and repairs.
The decision allows the airline to assess the aircraft and determine the maintenance required following the contact with Delta’s Airbus A350.
The aircraft involved in the incident arrived from Toronto on Air Canada Flight AC 785 before the contact occurred at LAX.
