LEEDS- A passenger has died after fellow travellers restrained him aboard a Jet2 (LS) flight LS966 from Larnaca International Airport (LCA) in Cyprus to Manchester Airport (MAN) in the United Kingdom. The incident followed reports of aggressive and disruptive behaviour during the journey.
Callum Kerr, a bare-knuckle boxer in his 30s, became critically ill after the aircraft landed at Manchester Airport and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation, while Jet2 has confirmed it is cooperating with the ongoing enquiries.

Jet2 Passenger Dies on Flight
Callum Kerr boarded a Jet2 flight LS966 from Larnaca with his girlfriend on June 21. Witnesses claimed he had consumed a significant amount of alcohol before boarding.
During the journey, Kerr allegedly became aggressive and began arguing with his girlfriend. Cabin crew reportedly moved her to another seat in an attempt to defuse the situation. Witnesses alleged that Kerr later followed her and assaulted a male passenger seated next to her.
Several travellers intervened to restrain Kerr until the aircraft landed safely at Manchester Airport. According to The Standard, the disruptive incident unfolded on the overnight service, which touched down in the early hours of June 22.
Greater Manchester Police said officers were called at around 2:25 AM following reports of an assault on board the flight from Larnaca, Cyprus.
When officers boarded the aircraft, they found Kerr being restrained by around three or four passengers.
Police said he was not breathing when they reached him. Those on scene called for a defibrillator before Kerr was taken to the hospital after becoming critically ill.
Police initially said the man, who was in his 30s, remained in hospital in a stable but critical condition while enquiries continued. His family later confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that he had died.

Greater Manchester Police Investigation
Greater Manchester Police said an investigation is underway after a man became critically ill following reports that he had behaved aggressively and disruptively toward another passenger and members of the cabin crew on the flight into Manchester.
The force confirmed officers attended the aircraft after landing and continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities have not announced any arrests or released a final cause of death, while the investigation remains ongoing.

Priority Landing and Tributes
Jet2 confirmed that flight LS966 from Larnaca to Manchester requested a priority landing because of a disruptive passenger incident. The airline also confirmed that one passenger was taken to the hospital after the aircraft landed.
Jet2 said it would be inappropriate to provide further comment while the police investigation remains ongoing.
Following confirmation of Kerr’s death, tributes were shared on social media. One tribute read, “God bless mate, we’ll catch up again.” Another post said, “Gunna miss that cheeky grin of his.”
