GURUGRAM- A heartwarming gesture by an IndiGo Airlines (6E) cabin crew member has captured attention across social media. Flight attendant Madhavi Chiguru used her own nail glue and duct tape to repair a solo passenger’s broken spectacles mid-flight, ensuring his comfort during the journey.
The video, shared on her Instagram, showcases what the airline calls “service from the heart.” Chiguru, based out of operations connected through Hyderabad (HYD), has worked with the carrier for 15 years and credits her parents in Telangana for inspiring her aviation career.
IndiGo Crew Fixes Broken Glasses
Madhavi Chiguru noticed a solo male passenger struggling to hold his glasses in place while attempting to eat and drink during the flight. On closer inspection, she discovered the spectacles were completely broken at the frame.
Understanding that the passenger would face difficulty for the remainder of his trip, she decided to step in and help.
After searching through available supplies, Chiguru improvised with her personal nail glue and duct tape to patch the broken frame back together.
Although she knew the fix was only temporary, her goal was to ensure the passenger could comfortably complete his journey. When she returned the repaired glasses, the passenger smiled with visible relief and gratitude, Hindustan Times reported.
Passenger Showers Blessings on Cabin Crew
Speaking about the moment, Chiguru shared that the customer was travelling alone and was looked after by her and her crew throughout the flight.
She mentioned that the passenger blessed her abundantly while deplaning, expressing his gratitude for the small but meaningful effort.
She emphasized that her action was a reflection of IndiGo’s training philosophy, which focuses on practical hospitality and prioritizing customer needs. Chiguru expressed gratitude toward the airline’s management for instilling these service standards in their cabin crew.
