RIYADH— Riyadh Air (RX), Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, has opened full public sales for flights between Riyadh King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The new service begins on 1 July 2026 and will operate exclusively with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Bookings opened today, 19 May 2026, through the Riyadh Air (RX) app, the airline’s website, and approved travel partners. The route links Riyadh (RUH) with London (LHR), connecting two G20 capital cities and strengthening a major economic corridor between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
Riyadh Air Begins Public Sales on London Route
Riyadh Air has operated daily flights to London since 26 October 2025. These services used the airline’s technical spare aircraft, named “Jamila,” under its Pathway to Perfect operational readiness program. Tickets for Jamila flights to London Terminal 4 remain available through approved travel partners until 30 June 2026.
From 1 July 2026, the Riyadh-London service moves fully to the airline’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The aircraft features four cabin classes and signature premium interiors. Public sales for these flights are now open to all guests.
Guests can also join Sfeer, the airline’s loyalty program, as Founding Members. Early enrollment provides a Best Offer Guarantee, complimentary onboard Wi-Fi, and rewards from the first flight.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, said the launch marks a major milestone for the airline as it introduces its new aircraft and premium experience on the established London route. He stated the airline aims to deliver a world-class journey that combines comfort, technology, and Saudi “Hafawa” hospitality.
Douglas added that connecting Saudi Arabia with the UK and beyond sits at the heart of the airline’s plans and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 ambitions.
Flight Schedule for the Riyadh-London Route
Riyadh Air will operate the route daily in both directions. All times are local.
- Flight RX401 to London Heathrow (LHR) departs Riyadh (RUH) at 02:35 and arrives at London Heathrow at 07:30.
- Flight RX402 to Riyadh (RUH) departs London Heathrow (LHR) at 09:35 and arrives at Riyadh at 18:05.
The route serves as a cornerstone of the airline’s UK expansion. It supports investment and commerce between the Kingdom and London’s global financial center. The service also meets growing tourism demand in both directions and positions Riyadh as a key transport hub with onward connections to other global destinations.
Four-Class Cabin Configuration on the Boeing 787-9
The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners offer four cabin classes: Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. Each class provides Bluetooth audio connectivity and traditional audio jacks at every seat.
Business Elite and Business share a fully flat-bed layout in a 1-2-1 configuration. Both classes include AC power, USB-C and USB-A charging, and high-fidelity sound delivered through the headrests.
Premium Economy uses a 2-3-2 layout with privacy headrest wings, additional storage, expandable surfaces, and four USB-C charging points. Economy offers a 3-3-3 layout with 6-way adjustable headrests and two USB-C charging points. All seats use plush foam and premium fabrics for added comfort.
In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity
Riyadh Air’s Dreamliners feature the Panasonic Avionics Astrova in-flight entertainment system. The system offers over 500 movies and 600 TV series from partners including Shahid, Disney+, HBO Max, and Warner Bros.
Guests also have access to 1,000 audio albums and playlists. The Astrova system delivers mobile-first connectivity, cinema-quality visuals, wireless Bluetooth listening, and USB-C charging.
Signature Onboard Hospitality
Riyadh Air provides Saudi-made Kayanee in-flight products and bespoke Disney amenity kits for younger travelers. The airline offers a full in-flight dining experience, luxurious bedding by John Horsfall, and a wellness journey designed for restful travel.
Guests in Business Elite and Business receive Kayanee loungewear. Premium Economy guests receive a Kayanee loungewear top. The airline states these touches help every guest arrive feeling refreshed.
Sfeer Loyalty Program Benefits
The Sfeer program takes its name from the Arabic word for “Ambassador” and the English word “sphere.” It offers a Best Offer Guarantee, a no-points-expiry policy, the ability to share level points with family and friends, and complimentary onboard Wi-Fi.
The program combines community engagement with gamified features such as challenges and leaderboards. Early members join “The Founders” club and receive priority access to bookings on new routes, along with other benefits.
