WASHINGTON— The United States military has confirmed that a KC-135 refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq during an ongoing regional military operation, prompting an immediate rescue mission for the crew.
US Central Command announced that the incident occurred during Operation Epic Fury, a military campaign currently underway in the Middle East. Authorities have not yet confirmed the condition of those on board or whether any casualties occurred.

US Central Command stated that the KC-135 refueling aircraft was lost during an operational flight but emphasized that the crash was not caused by hostile fire.
Officials said the incident occurred while two aircraft were conducting mission activities related to Operation Epic Fury.
Early information suggests the aircraft may have been operating in close proximity, although authorities have not confirmed the exact circumstances.
