PRAGUE- STARLUX Airlines (JX) has confirmed that it will launch its first-ever European route with a new nonstop long-haul service between Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), Prague, and Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taipei. The Taiwanese carrier will inaugurate the route on August 1, marking a major milestone in its international expansion strategy.
The new Prague–Taipei service will initially operate three times per week before increasing to four weekly flights from October. STARLUX will deploy the Airbus A350-900 on the route, offering passengers a four-class cabin layout and direct connectivity between Central Europe and Taiwan for the first time with the airline.

STARLUX Launching Prague Flights
STARLUX Airlines will begin operations on the Prague–Taipei route with departures scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
From October, the airline will add a fourth weekly rotation, operating on Mondays to meet expected demand growth during the autumn and winter travel season.
The airline has selected the Airbus A350-900 for the route, reflecting both the distance involved and the premium positioning of the service. The aircraft will feature First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class, with a total seating capacity of 306 passengers.
According to Prague Airport leadership, the route is expected to generate strong two-way demand in its first year. Airport estimates suggest that more than 95,000 passengers could travel on the route annually, driven by tourism, business travel, and growing economic ties between Taiwan and the Czech Republic.

Aircraft and Cabins
The Airbus A350-900 operating the Prague–Taipei route is part of STARLUX’s all next-generation widebody fleet.
The aircraft interior was designed in collaboration with BMW Designworks, focusing on a clean layout and consistent premium design across all cabins.
First Class will be limited to just four seats, providing a highly exclusive onboard experience. Business Class will offer fully lie-flat seats with sliding doors, while Premium Economy will feature increased legroom, wider seats, and enhanced dining compared with standard Economy Class.
Economy Class passengers will also benefit from generous baggage allowances, with two checked bags of up to 23 kilograms included.
Each seat across all cabins will feature a personal entertainment screen offering a wide selection of movies and series, including content from HBO MAX.

Starlux’s Network and Strategy
Prague’s selection as STARLUX Airlines’ first European destination reflects a targeted market entry strategy rather than broad expansion.
The airline sees strong leisure demand from Taiwan to Central Europe, alongside rising business travel linked to semiconductor and technology sector cooperation between the two economies.
The route also strengthens STARLUX’s role as a connector between Europe and Asia. Passengers arriving in Taipei will gain access to the airline’s broader Asian network, including destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hong Kong.
Founded in 2020, STARLUX Airlines remains one of Asia’s youngest full-service carriers.
The Prague launch signals a new phase of growth as the airline extends its long-haul footprint beyond North America and positions itself as a premium option for intercontinental travel.

Bottom Line
The launch of the Prague–Taipei route marks a strategically significant step for STARLUX Airlines as it enters the European market for the first time.
By starting with a measured schedule and deploying a four-class Airbus A350-900, the carrier is signaling a clear focus on premium long-haul connectivity rather than rapid network expansion.
