DUBAI- Emirates Airline (EK) is preparing for a major workforce expansion as it adds hundreds of aircraft to its fleet over the next decade. The move will open wide-ranging career opportunities across flight operations, cabin crew, engineering, and support services.
With a current workforce of about 124,000 employees, the airline plans to recruit thousands more, including a long-term target of 5,000 pilots. This expansion aligns with Emirates’ growth strategy as the world’s largest international airline.

Emirates Hiring New Candidates
Emirates’ leadership has confirmed that fleet expansion will continue steadily over the coming years.
Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum stated that the additional aircraft will directly translate into new jobs across multiple operational areas.
Deputy President and COO Adel Al Redha has outlined a pilot recruitment plan spanning eight to ten years, reflecting the airline’s focus on sustained growth rather than short-term hiring. As of now, Emirates lists over 120 open roles across departments, with flight crew positions among the most competitive and sought after, Khaleej Times flagged.

Direct Entry Captain Roles at Emirates
Direct Entry Captain positions are available for experienced Airbus pilots operating the A350 and A380 fleets. These roles demand extensive multi-crew, multi-engine flight experience and recent command time on Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft.
Captains receive a tax-free annual package of up to Dh1.18 million. This includes base pay, flying pay, company-provided accommodation, education allowances for up to three children, 42 days of annual leave, confirmed business class tickets for annual leave travel, comprehensive insurance, and eligibility for profit sharing.
Eligibility requirements vary slightly between A350 and A380 fleets but include a valid ICAO ATPL, Class 1 Medical, and ICAO English Level 5 or above. Applications are submitted online with mandatory documentation such as a passport, CV, and medical certification.

Cabin Crew Opportunities in Dubai
Cabin crew roles remain central to Emirates’ global brand. The airline emphasizes customer service skills, adaptability, and safety leadership as core requirements. While hospitality experience is preferred, safety training is conducted in-house at Emirates’ Dubai facilities.
Cabin crew members earn an average total monthly pay of Dh11,244, combining basic salary, flying pay, and overseas meal allowances. Benefits include accommodation, medical coverage, and concessional travel.
Eligibility criteria include a minimum height requirement, fluency in English, a high school qualification, and compliance with UAE employment visa rules. Visible tattoos are not permitted while in uniform.

Accelerated Command Pathway for First Officers
The Accelerated Command programme allows qualified First Officers to progress to Captain roles faster than standard timelines. Candidates must complete specific flight hour thresholds and recurrent training modules.
The total tax-free annual package can reach Dh970,000. Benefits mirror those offered to Captains, including housing, education allowances, travel privileges, insurance, and profit-sharing eligibility.
Applicants must meet defined flight hour requirements on Airbus or Boeing fly-by-wire aircraft and hold a valid ICAO ATPL with Class 1 Medical certification.
First Officer Positions Across Fleets
Emirates continues to recruit First Officers for its Boeing 777, Airbus A380, and A350 fleets. Minimum requirements start at 2,000 total flight hours, with enhanced packages available for pilots exceeding 4,000 hours.
Annual tax-free compensation can reach Dh900,000, alongside housing, education allowances, annual leave travel benefits, medical insurance, and pension contributions. Pilots with Frozen ATPLs may also be considered under specific terms.

AMEL Scholarship Programme for UAE Nationals
For Emirati candidates, Emirates offers a fully sponsored Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License scholarship through the Emirates Engineering Training College in Dubai. The programme spans approximately five years and is approved by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority.
Phase one focuses on theoretical and practical training, while phase two provides hands-on experience on live aircraft. Monthly salaries increase progressively, reaching nearly Dh24,000 upon completion.
Eligibility is limited to UAE nationals aged 18 to 24 who have completed Grade 12 with strong academic results and national service requirements. Graduates qualify to apply for a GCAA Basic AMEL and begin careers as certified aircraft technicians.
