LONDON- British Airways (BA) will introduce Starlink, high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet starting in 2026, giving passengers free, reliable internet access on every flight.
The move is part of the airline’s £7 billion transformation plan and marks a significant leap in onboard connectivity, promising fast streaming, smooth video calls, and uninterrupted service from take-off to landing.

British Airways to Launch Starlink Wi-Fi
Starlink, operated by SpaceX, is the world’s most advanced low-Earth-orbit satellite network. Unlike traditional systems, its satellites orbit closer to Earth, providing stronger, low-latency internet even over remote regions and oceans. This will enable British Airways to deliver the same online experience at 38,000 feet as passengers enjoy at home.
Sean Doyle, Chairman and CEO of British Airways, described the rollout as a milestone in the airline’s transformation. He emphasized that integrating Starlink on both long-haul and short-haul aircraft will “elevate the customer experience and set new standards in connectivity.”
Passengers in every cabin class will have free access to the new Wi-Fi service for work, streaming, and communication. The introduction of Starlink will also enhance BA’s competitiveness across key European and transatlantic routes.

Part of a £7 Billion Transformation
British Airways’ investment in Starlink is one of more than 1,000 initiatives under its multi-year transformation strategy launched in 2024. The program aims to redefine the passenger journey through operational improvements, upgraded interiors, and digital innovation.
Notable achievements include:
- New and renovated lounges in Miami (MIA), Dubai (DXB), Singapore (SIN), and Glasgow (GLA)
- Delivery of 36 new aircraft since 2023, including 17 A320neo models with redesigned short-haul cabins
- Record on-time performance in 2025, with 81% of flights departing within 15 minutes of schedule
- AI-driven maintenance and predictive operations to reduce delays
- Enhanced disruption management with digital refreshment and hotel vouchers for passengers at Heathrow (LHR)
The airline also plans to introduce a new First Class suite with a 32-inch 4K display, adjustable lighting, and its widest seat to date, alongside additional Boeing 787-10 deliveries and a redesigned mobile app in 2026.

The Starlink Advantage
Starlink’s network, engineered and operated by SpaceX, provides high-bandwidth, low-latency internet suitable for streaming, video calls, and online gaming.
The system’s low-Earth-orbit satellites ensure consistent coverage, even over oceans and sparsely populated areas, making it a natural fit for aviation.
With this partnership, British Airways joins a growing list of global carriers adopting Starlink, aligning with its mission to offer a connected, modern travel experience for all passengers. Once fully implemented, the service will be available across all British Airways mainline and Euroflyer flights.
