SINGAPORE- World’s best carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ) will transform its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) Terminal 2 over the next two years. The company will invest $45 million to improve the ground experience for customers at its main hub.
Renovations will start on April 15, 2025, and progress in phases. The project should finish around mid-2027. The updated lounges will offer 50% more space and seating capacity. They will feature better facilities, signature elements from SIA’s flagship lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 3, and more food and drink options.

Mr. Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines (SQ), emphasized the importance of this project: “This significant investment shows Singapore Airlines’ strong commitment to improving the complete travel experience for our customers. Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are bringing our signature hospitality and carefully selected offerings to Terminal 2.”

The new First Class Silver Kris Lounge will feature a larger area with increased capacity, higher ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The renovated bar will provide a premium experience, including barista services in the morning.
Live cooking stations in the First Class SilverKris Lounge will serve popular Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes. The self-service buffet will also grow to match the offerings available at the SilverKris Lounge in Terminal 3.
Business Class Lounge Expansion
The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will grow by 30%, giving customers more space and comfort. It will include a quiet rest area with recliners for relaxation before flights and a redesigned living room area with various seating options.
These options include wingback chairs, sofa seats, and productivity pods, allowing customers to work, eat, or rest comfortably.
The expanded self-service buffet will feature both Asian and Western foods. A new full-service bar will enhance the dining experience, offering fresh barista-made coffee in the morning and signature cocktails in the evening.
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double its capacity and offer various seating options. These include armchairs for lounging, workstations, and dining seats. New features will include in-lounge restrooms and shower suites, allowing customers to freshen up before their flights.
Construction Timeline
To minimize disruption to customers, the renovation will happen in phases. Construction of the new First Class SilverKris Lounge will begin on April 15, 2025, with expected completion by the fourth quarter of 2025.
Construction of the new Business Class SilverKris Lounge should begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the new KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in the first half of 2026.
