FRANKFURT- Condor Airline (DE) is likely to discontinue service to two US destinations, Baltimore (BWI) and Minneapolis (MSP) from its Frankfurt hub starting summer of 2025, as all flights for these routes have been removed from the airline’s booking system.
The German leisure carrier currently serves Baltimore (BWI) with three weekly flights and Minneapolis (MSP) with three weekly frequencies, Ishrion Aviation reported.
Condor US Destinations Cuts
These potential cuts would eliminate Condor’s presence in two major U.S. markets where it has established seasonal operations.
Beyond these route suspensions, Condor has also scaled back its previously announced Seattle (SEA) frequency increase. The airline had planned to add four additional weekly flights to its existing daily service but has now withdrawn this expansion from sale.
The Miami (MIA) route faces scheduling adjustments, with frequency changes potentially shifting between two and four weekly flights for the summer 2025 season.
Industry analysts suggest Delta Air Lines (DL), despite its strong Minneapolis hub presence, likely won’t fill the void. Delta’s recent German market performance, marked by service reductions, coupled with Condor’s strength in capturing Europe-originating leisure traffic, makes such a move improbable.
Condor currently maintains an extensive North American network spanning 17 destinations, including major U.S. markets like New York (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO), alongside Canadian destinations such as Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR). Many of these routes operate daily during peak seasons.
UPDATE: Condor has announced the cancellation of flights to six North American cities:
- San Antonio (SAT)
- Phoenix (PHX)
- Baltimore (BWI)
- Minneapolis (MSP)
- Halifax (YHZ)
- Edmonton (YEG)
This change leaves San Antonio without its only transatlantic connection, Ishrion A reported.
Best Leisure Transatlantic Airline
The Attestor Capital-backed Condor Airlines earned the “Best Leisure Transatlantic Airline” title at the Business Traveler North America Awards, chosen through a two-tier selection process involving expert nominations and reader voting.
Mikko Turtiainen, Director of Sales for The Americas at Condor, attributes the win to the airline’s comprehensive service excellence, highlighting their A330neo Business Class cabins and premium dining offerings.
The airline secured additional acclaim as “Design Airline of the Year, Europe, 2024” from TheDesignAir Awards, scoring 82.7 points and ranking among the top four global airline designs. The evaluation encompassed uniform aesthetics, cabin interiors, aircraft livery, and brand cohesion across digital and physical platforms.
Condor’s Business Class experience gained further recognition at the TravelPlus Airline Amenity Awards 2024, where its deSter-collaborated pajama design won in the “Business Class: Sleeper Suits / PJs” category.
