SINGAPORE- The Singaporean flag carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ) is expanding its footprint in India with the addition of more flights to the existing Delhi and Mumbai services.
Air India Group (AI) recently merged its premium subsidiary Vistara Airlines under its flag, which allowed Singapore Airlines to have a 25.1% stake in AI Group. This is substantial as Air India Group is now the only Full-Service Carrier in the country.
Singapore Airlines India Flights
According to Aeroroutes update, Singapore Airlines will add around 4 more weekly flights to the existing 2x daily flights for January 2025. The following are the changes made by one of the best carriers in the World:
Delhi Route Expansion
Singapore Airlines will increase Delhi route frequencies from 14 to 18-19 weekly flights. The carrier will replace previously planned A380 services with Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787 aircraft. The modified schedule includes multiple daily connections:
- SQ402: Singapore 02:25 to Delhi 05:40, operated by Boeing 787
- SQ406: Singapore 16:25 to Delhi 20:00, operated by Boeing 777-300ER
- SQ404: Singapore 17:25 to Delhi 20:40, operated by Airbus A350-900
Return flights will feature:
- SQ401: Delhi 09:45 to Singapore 18:00, Boeing 787
- SQ403: Delhi 21:50 to Singapore 06:00+1, Boeing 777-300ER
- SQ405: Delhi 22:00 to Singapore 06:10+1, Airbus A350-900
Mumbai Route Enhancement
The Mumbai route will see an increase from 16 to 19-20 weekly flights, with similar aircraft substitutions. Key flight modifications include:
- SQ422: Singapore 07:45 to Mumbai 10:35, Airbus A350-900
- SQ424: Singapore 18:50 to Mumbai 22:10, Boeing 777-300ER
- SQ426: Singapore 20:20 to Mumbai 23:30, Boeing 787
Return flights will feature:
- SQ425: Mumbai 00:45 to Singapore 08:35, Airbus A350-900
- SQ421: Mumbai 11:50 to Singapore 19:50, Airbus A350-900
- SQ423: Mumbai 23:35 to Singapore 07:30+1, Boeing 777-300ER
Recently, Singapore Airlines has expanded its codeshare with Air India Group. Apart from this, Noida International Airport is in talks with Singapore Airlines to launch non-stop flights between Jewar and Singapore.

Air India Singapore Codeshare
Air India and Singapore Airlines have announced a transformative codeshare partnership, significantly expanding their international network by adding 51 new destinations across India and global markets. The agreement, effective October 27, 2024, represents a strategic enhancement of their collaboration that has existed since 2010.
The carriers will quadruple their joint weekly scheduled services between India and Singapore, escalating from 14 to 56 flights. Initial codeshare operations will connect Singapore with Bengaluru and Chennai, providing travelers with unprecedented routing flexibility.
Singapore Airlines will gain extensive access to Air India’s domestic network through strategic hub connections:
- Delhi Hub: Connecting to Amritsar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Lucknow, and Varanasi
- Mumbai Hub: Establishing links to Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Goa, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram
- Additional connectivity between Kolkata and Guwahati
Air India customers will now access 29 destinations across Singapore Airlines’ comprehensive network:
International Geographic Coverage:
- Australia: Seven cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney
- Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, and Indonesian destinations
- East Asia: Japanese cities Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo airports
- South Korea: Busan and Seoul
- Additional Markets: Malaysian, New Zealand, Philippine, and Vietnamese cities
Singapore Airlines passengers will gain access to Air India’s international services from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, extending connectivity to:
- European Destinations: 12 cities including Copenhagen, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, and Amsterdam
- Middle Eastern Routes: Jeddah and Riyadh
- African Connection: Nairobi
- United Kingdom: Birmingham and London airports
