SEATTLE- American Aerospace giant Boeing and Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider, have announced a deal for 40 737-8 (737 MAX 8) aircraft, with an option to purchase 40 more.
Avia Solutions Group holds 11 air operator certificates (AOCs), including Avion Express, Smartlynx, Klasjet, and others. These AOCs operate in over 60 countries, providing services for various airlines and tour operators year-round.
Boeing 737 MAX 8 Order
Gediminas Ziemelis, Chairman of Avia Solutions Group, emphasized that the order is central to their strategy of expanding capacity to meet seasonal demand. He added that the 737 MAXs will enhance fleet flexibility and fuel efficiency for their airlines.
The 737-8, known for its versatility, is ideal for short- and medium-haul routes. This makes it a crucial asset for ACMI providers like Avia Solutions Group, which requires flexible aircraft to support airlines during peak periods or operational disruptions.
Brad McMullen, Boeing’s senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing, highlighted the 737-8’s role in meeting dynamic industry demand. He noted that Avia Solutions Group’s choice aligns with the industry’s push for more fuel-efficient fleets and better passenger experiences.
The 737-8 can accommodate 162 to 210 passengers and has a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km). The aircraft also offers improved environmental performance and passenger comfort features, including the Boeing Sky Interior and customizable LED lighting.
Previous Big MAX Order
CDB Aviation committed to purchasing 50 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, marking a significant fleet expansion. The board confirmed the agreement on September 18, 2024, strengthening the lessor’s market position.
Boeing will deliver the aircraft between 2028 and 2031, integrating new capabilities into CDB Aviation’s portfolio. The transaction received full board approval, meeting commercial and regulatory requirements.
The deal enhanced CDB Aviation’s competitive stance, following their recent acquisition of 80 Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
