LONDON- Virgin Atlantic (VS) has revealed significant changes to its Northern winter schedule for 2024/25, operating from October 27, 2024, through March 29, 2025.
The airline introduces several route expansions and aircraft upgrades across its network.
Virgin Atlantic Winter Schedule Updates
Here are the Winter 2024-25 schedule changes as reported by Aeroroutes:
- From London Heathrow, Virgin Atlantic will enhance its Dubai service to daily flights, upgrading from four weekly services, using a combination of Airbus A330-300, A330-900neo, and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
- The Male route will also see an increase in daily flights from three weekly services, operated by 787-9 aircraft.
- Mumbai services will double to twice daily, utilizing the 397-seater A350-1000XWB and 787-9 aircraft.
- The Boston route will maintain one daily service, operated by both A330-300 and A330-900neo aircraft.
- Caribbean route changes include Montego Bay’s nonstop service increasing to four weekly flights from February 25, 2025, though overall service reduced from seven to four weekly flights.
- The Nassau-Montego Bay and Providenciales-Montego Bay routes will cease operations on February 23 and February 21, 2025, respectively.
- Starting December 1, 2024, St. Lucia services will see the addition of A330-900neo aircraft alongside the existing A330-300, maintaining three weekly flights.
- Washington Dulles will receive a mixed fleet of A330-300, A330-900neo, and 787-9 aircraft for its daily service.
- From Manchester, Atlanta services will incorporate A330-900neo alongside A330-300 aircraft for five weekly flights.
- New York JFK service will reduce to four weekly flights between January 14 and March 3, 2025, using A330-300 aircraft.
- Orlando routes will see both A330-900neo and A330-300 aircraft in operation.
More Flights to Orlando in Summer 2025
Virgin Atlantic will increase its London Heathrow (LHR) to Orlando (MCO) service from 14 to 17 weekly flights during the peak summer season, operating from July 11 to September 7, 2025.
The expanded schedule offers three daily flight options from London Heathrow:
- Morning departure at 09:50, arriving in Orlando at 14:30
- Afternoon departure at 14:45, arriving in Orlando at 19:30
- Mid-afternoon departure at 15:15, arriving in Orlando at 19:30
Return flights from Orlando will operate at:
- Evening departure at 17:00, arriving in London at 06:45 the next day
- Night departure at 19:55, arriving in London at 09:15 the next day
- Late night departure at 22:10, arriving in London at 11:55 the next day
The airline will utilize a mixed fleet for these routes, including the Airbus A330-300 (333), A330-900neo (339), and A350-1000 (351) aircraft. This schedule enhancement demonstrates Virgin Atlantic’s commitment to meeting increased summer travel demand between the UK and Florida.
