DELHI- Gurugram-based SpiceJet Airlines (SG) launched 32 new flights for its winter schedule starting October 27, 2024, expanding both domestic and international routes.
The airline introduces 30 domestic flights and establishes daily non-stop services connecting Delhi (DEL) with Phuket (HKT).
SpiceJet New Flights
The domestic expansion includes new connections from Mumbai to Patna, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Goa. Patna gains enhanced connectivity with new routes to Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.
Chennai residents receive direct flights to Port Blair and Pune, while Delhi adds routes to Phuket, Amritsar, and Gorakhpur. The expansion also establishes a Kolkata-Port Blair connection.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, emphasized the airline’s focus on affordable air travel and improved connectivity through these route additions. The expansion aims to enhance customer experience through better scheduling and increased flight frequencies.
SpiceJet plans to strengthen its operational capabilities with the addition of 10 new aircraft by November 2024.
Star Air Kolhapur to Ahmedabad Flights
Star Air (S5) expanded its regional network by introducing direct flights connecting Kolhapur (KLH) and Ahmedabad (AMD), from October 28, 2024. The new route strengthens connectivity between Maharashtra and Gujarat, targeting business professionals, tourists, and pilgrims seeking efficient travel options.
The service operates four days a week – Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Here’s the flight schedule:
- Flight S5 165 departs Kolhapur at 11:00, reaching Ahmedabad at 12:20.
- The return flight, S5 166, takes off from Ahmedabad at 12:50, landing in Kolhapur at 14:10.
CEO Capt. Simran Singh Tiwana emphasizes the route’s strategic importance in connecting underserved regional sectors with major urban centers. The initiative aims to stimulate economic growth and tourism between the culturally rich cities while maintaining Star Air’s focus on accessible and affordable air travel.
FLY91 Pune to Goa and Jalgaon
FLY91 (IC), India’s regional airline, launches daily flights connecting Pune-Goa and Pune-Jalgaon starting October 27, anticipating increased Diwali travel demand. The routes strengthen connectivity to Pune, Maharashtra’s cultural capital and IT hub.
The Pune-Goa service targets students, leisure travelers, and MICE tourism participants.
- Weekday flights depart Pune at 11:55, arriving in Goa at 13:20, while weekend departures leave at 10:50, reaching Goa at 12:10.
- Return flights from Goa operate at 10:20 on weekdays and 06:05 on weekends.
The Pune-Jalgaon route serves business travelers, students, and tourists visiting the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora caves.
- Weekday and Sunday flights depart Pune at 15:50, landing in Jalgaon at 17:15. Saturday service departs at 16:45.
- Return flights leave Jalgaon at 14:10 on weekdays and Sundays, with Saturday departures at 14:50.
FLY91 maintains its twice-weekly Pune-Sindhudurg service, with Saturday and Sunday departures from Pune at 07:50 and returns at 09:15. The airline operates from Manohar International Airport, Goa, connecting regional centers including Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Agatti in Lakshadweep, and Hyderabad.
Manoj Chacko, CEO and Managing Director of FLY91, emphasizes the expansion’s role in enhancing tier 2 and tier 3 city connectivity, promoting economic development in underserved regions.
The timing aligns with Diwali festivities, scheduled for month-end when travel traditionally increases as people return to ancestral homes or plan vacations during Dhanteras.
