BRISBANE- American Airlines (AA) inaugural flight AA7 from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Brisbane (BNE), Australia is set to become the most tracked flight in the world on October 27, 2024, as flagged by FlightRadar24, the tracking website.
The route marks two significant milestones: it becomes American Airlines’ longest network flight by distance and establishes Brisbane Airport’s longest direct connection.
American Airlines Dallas to Brisbane
The Fort Worth-based carrier will deploy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to serve this special inaugural flight. Further, this new service will strengthen the growing aviation ties between Australia and the United States.
Brisbane Airport plans to capitalize on global interest by providing a live stream of the aircraft’s landing, offering aviation enthusiasts worldwide real-time access to this historic moment.
“This flight will rank among Flightradar24’s most tracked services, drawing viewers eager to follow its journey from Dallas-Fort Worth to Brisbane,” states Ian Petchenik, Flightradar24’s Director of Communications.
Further, Petchenik attributes Brisbane’s rising prominence among aviation enthusiasts to the airport’s significant international route expansion throughout the year. The new service demonstrates Brisbane’s growing role as a major Asia-Pacific aviation hub.
Brisbane Airport’s diverse aircraft operations attract worldwide viewership through weekly livestreams, with aviation YouTubers Julia Flights and Only Planes Network leading regular broadcasts.
“Our airfield showcases everything from A380s to Royal Flying Doctor King Airs, alongside Alliance Airlines’ world-leading Fokker fleet,” states Peter Doherty, Brisbane Airport’s Media and Communications Manager. The airport’s position as Australia’s primary domestic hub generates continuous traffic of specialized regional aircraft.
The airport plans strategic camera placement along runways and taxiways for American Airlines’ inaugural flight, promising viewers comprehensive coverage of the historic arrival.
“While airport livestreaming has gained global popularity, our coverage of American Airlines’ arrival will introduce unprecedented technical elements,” Doherty reveals, hinting at innovative broadcast features designed to distinguish Brisbane’s stream from standard airport coverage.

Brisbane Airport selected 20 winners from over 400 competition entrants to witness American Airlines’ first arrival from Dallas-Fort Worth from an exclusive airfield vantage point.
Arriving passengers will receive special welcome treats from local viral sensation Brooki Bakehouse, adding a distinctive Brisbane culinary element to the historic landing.
The airport’s YouTube channel will broadcast the event, featuring veteran television broadcaster Peter Doherty and Sammy Cheney, Series Producer of “The Great Outdoors,” who recently documented Texas for the travel program.

Longest Flight in the World
The record for operating the longest flight in the world is currently being held by Singapore Airlines (SQ). The World’s best carrier operates this longest non-stop flight between Singapore (SIN) and New York (JFK).
The SIN-JFK is a 9,537-mile-long route and takes around 18 hours and 40 minutes to cover it. Singapore Airlines deploys its ultra-long-haul Airbus A350-900 aircraft to serve the sector.
So now you know the longest flight in the world is 9,537 miles. Now the distance between DFW and BNE is 8,303 miles (13,363 Kilometers). It will take around 15 hours to complete this route.
If we look at the list of the Top 15 longest flight routes in the world, American Airlines will not make it into the list but it will be in the top 20 list for sure.
Australian cities such as Perth (PER) and Sydney (SYD) already operate some of the longest routes in the world. American’s DFW-BNE route will put Brisbane in the top longest non-stop service list.
