BENGALURU- SriLankan Airlines (UL) announces new daytime service between Bengaluru (BLR), India, and Colombo (CMB), expanding its weekly flight frequency to 10 flights from October 31, 2024.
The schedule targets weekend travelers and business professionals seeking short trips to Sri Lanka.
SriLankan Airlines Bengaluru Flights
Here’s the flight schedule for SriLankan’s daytime CMB-BLR flight:
- Flight UL 1174 departs Bangalore at 09:40 AM and arrives in Colombo at 11:10 AM every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
- The return flight, UL 1173, leaves Colombo at 07:20 AM and lands in Bangalore at 08:40 AM on the same day.
The flag carrier of Sri Lanka will deploy Airbus A320 aircraft to serve this route. All A320s come with a two-class configuration, i.e. it includes Business and Economy class seats.
The new flight timing will maximize daytime hours in Sri Lanka, which will enable travelers to optimize their weekend itineraries. The schedule facilitates efficient travel planning, allowing passengers to return for their work week while maintaining business hours during their stay.
Sri Lanka maintains strong appeal in India’s outbound travel market, leveraging cultural similarities and geographic proximity. The destination offers diverse experiences within a compact area, from southern beaches to northern temples and central highlands, complemented by Colombo’s urban attractions.
SriLankan Airlines rewards FlySmiLes members with 1,174 and 1,173 miles on flights UL 1174 and UL 1173 respectively. The carrier provides specialized Indian cuisine options while maintaining its signature Sri Lankan hospitality standards.
Further, the airline maintains daily Bangalore-Colombo services alongside the new flights.
India represents the largest country presence in SriLankan’s network with nine destinations: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Bangalore. The carrier operates approximately 90 weekly flights between both countries.
All Airbus Fleet Operator
As Sri Lanka’s national carrier and oneworld alliance member, SriLankan Airlines operates from Bandaranaike International Airport, connecting to 114 destinations across 62 countries.
The airline’s all-Airbus fleet of 22 aircraft as of October 2024 includes A330-300 and A320/321neo aircraft. It serves routes throughout Europe, Australia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and the Far East.
