ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) will resume nonstop flights between Los Angeles (LAX) and Shanghai (PVG), China in June 2025. The airline will deploy its cutting-edge Airbus A350, featuring the most advanced onboard amenities.
Passengers traveling in Delta One can anticipate the new Delta One Lounge at LAX, while all travelers will benefit from recently completed airport upgrades designed to enhance comfort and streamline the travel experience.
Delta Los Angeles to Shanghai Flights
Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, emphasized the airline’s commitment to its Los Angeles customer base. He stated, “As the leading global airline at LAX, Delta remains committed to providing our Los Angeles customers with seamless access to destinations worldwide.”
Esposito highlighted the significance of Delta’s recent investments, including the new Delta One Lounge and broader airport improvements. These enhancements aim to elevate every aspect of the customer journey, from airport arrival to final destination.
The reintroduction of the Los Angeles-Shanghai route will expand Delta’s U.S.-China operations to 17 weekly flights. This addition complements the airline’s existing routes from Detroit and Seattle to China.
Serving 60 Destination from LAX
Delta expands its LAX operations, offering over 150 peak-day departures to nearly 60 destinations. The airline introduces new and resumed services to Auckland (AKL), Paris (CDG), and Brisbane (BNE) starting December 4.
LAX travelers now benefit from Delta’s modern Sky Way, a 1.2-million-square-foot, 27-gate Terminal 3. This facility features a centralized check-in lobby, a Digital ID-enabled security checkpoint, and the award-winning Delta Sky Club, recently named North America’s Best Airline Lounge in 2023.
Delta One customers gain access to the newly opened Delta One Lounge at LAX, accommodating nearly 200 guests. This lounge connects to the dedicated Delta One Check-in area, providing white-glove service and private TSA screening, enabling a swift transition from curb to lounge.
The LAX-Shanghai route will operate three times weekly using Delta’s Airbus A350-900. This aircraft offers the latest in premium travel, including Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin experiences.
Delta One passengers will experience luxury travel with lie-flat seating, premium bedding, expanded beverage options, and a seasonal chef-curated four-course meal. Delta Premium Select provides wider seats, deeper recline, and enhanced service for a more comfortable journey.
All cabins offer a curated food and beverage experience and access to over 1,000 hours of entertainment via Delta Studio.
