SINGAPORE- World’s best carrier, Singapore Airlines (SQ) has inaugurated new flights from Singapore (SIN) to London Gatwick (LHR) on June 21, 2024 (yesterday). The flight was operated by 6.9-year-old Airbus A350-900 aircraft, registered as 9V-SMQ.
London’s Gatwick Ground Services (GGS) welcomed the flight. GGS is an official partner for ground handling services including cleaning.
Singapore Airlines London Gatwick Flight
Southeast Asian carrier will operate 5X weekly flights between Singapore and London Gatwick Airport. The newly launched flight will complement the existing daily flights to London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
This addition, alongside the existing four daily services to Heathrow Airport, will increase the total number of weekly services to the UK’s capital from 28 to 33.
The inaugural flight departed from Singapore to Gatwick Airport at 23:55 hrs. (local time) on June 21, 2024, arriving in London at 06:25 hrs. (local time) on June 22, 2024.
The return leg, flight SQ309, will operate from Gatwick Airport to Singapore on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The inaugural return flight is scheduled to depart at 10:15 hrs. (local time) on June 22, 2024, and will arrive in Singapore at 06:20 hrs. on June 23, 2024.
Further, the Singapore Airlines A350 has a total of 253 seats across three cabin classes: 42 in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class, and 187 in Economy Class.
The inclusion of Gatwick expands the number of European destinations in the SQ network to 141, underscoring its strong commitment to enhancing connectivity in this crucial region.
14 New Routes to Gatwick
Earlier this week, the Gatwick Airport revealed that this summer they will add 13 new long-haul routes (one of them is Singapore) and one domestic route.
Travelers arriving from Singapore will enjoy the excellent connectivity offered by London Gatwick, facilitated by our recently revamped train station that offers direct access to the heart of London in under 30 minutes. Additionally, it provides services to renowned cities like Cambridge and the picturesque south coast of the UK.
In a different update, Singapore Airlines from January 15 to January 31, 2025, Singapore to Frankfurt flight SQ326/325 will see the A350-900XWB replacing the Airbus A380.
