DELHI- Tata-owned Indian FSC, Air India (AI), took delivery of its 5th Airbus A350 on April 30, 2024. The airline is set to deploy A350 on the Delhi (DEL)-Dubai (DXB) route for the first time.
Furthermore, Air India has extended the temporary suspension of its flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV) in Israel amid unrest in the Middle East region.
Air India 5th A350
On Tuesday, Air India welcomed another A350, the 9th widebody delivery in over 5 months.
Air India’s fifth A350, registered as VT-JRF, took off from Toulouse (TLS) at 6:05 PM UTC and landed in Delhi (DEL) after 8 hours and 50 minutes at around 2:40 AM UTC (8:40 AM IST).
Currently, Air India deploys its A350s on Domestic routes connecting metro cities, but this will change today.

A350 on DEL-DXB Route
The airline wrote while promoting this route,

As of May 1, 2024, Air India operates 4 daily flights (on some day 5) on the Delhi-Dubai route. Three flights are served by Boeing 787 Dreamliner and one with Airbus A321. The airline plans to replace one of the 787 flights with A350.

Flight Suspension to Tel Aviv
On April 30, Air India announced the extension of flight suspensions to and from Tel Aviv until May 15 due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Previously, on April 19, the airline had stated that Tel Aviv flights would be suspended until April 30. Air India typically operates four weekly flights connecting the national capital with the Israeli city.
Air India shared the update on social media and wrote,
‘In view of the ongoing situation in parts of the Middle East, we have extended the temporary suspension of our flights to and from Tel Aviv to 15 May 2024. We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers who have confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period, with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges. Safety of our guests and crew remains our foremost priority.’
