NEW YORK- Etihad Airways (EY) flight EY1 from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to New York landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Monday, April 22, marking the inauguration of the airline’s Airbus A380 double-decker service featuring The Residence, the renowned and luxurious three-room suite in the sky.
Following a celebratory send-off in Abu Dhabi, Etihad pilots displayed the US and UAE flags from the cockpit upon the super-jumbo’s arrival at its stand in New York.
Etihad A380 to New York
The introduction of the A380 substantially enhances Etihad’s capacity in the crucial US market, offering seamless and convenient connections to the broader Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.
This increase in capacity will also facilitate the attraction of more visitors keen to explore the dynamic attractions of Abu Dhabi and indulge in the premium leisure experience offered by Etihad.
Out of Etihad’s two daily flights to New York, one will be served by the A380, while the other will be operated by a Boeing 787-9, providing First, Business, and Economy cabins.
