The point of sale mix is primarily from Detroit (59%) and San Francisco (42%), with Delta Air Lines (DL) dominating the market share at 75%, followed by Frontier Airlines at 13% and United Airlines at 6%.
In comparison to the same period in 2022, there has been an increase in passenger traffic, with more flights operating per day. This route is crucial for connecting the Midwest to the West Coast, and United Airlines is stepping up to meet the demand.
The second route United Airlines reinstates is the San Francisco (SFO) – St. Louis (STL) connection. With a traffic PDEW of 106 and an average round-trip fare of 9 in December 2023, this route serves a mix of passengers from San Francisco (37%) and St. Louis (62%).
