DELHI- Air India (AI), a prominent global airline in India, is set to launch non-stop service between Delhi (DEL) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) in Vietnam, commencing on June 1, 2024.
Operating with its two-class configured Airbus A320neo aircraft, Air India will offer flights on this new route at convenient timings five days a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

This new route will reinforce Air India’s network of destinations in Southeast Asia, providing a fresh travel option for the growing number of passengers between India and Vietnam. Additionally, it will establish new connections for Vietnamese travelers to access Air India’s extensive global route network.
Furthermore, this service will facilitate convenient one-stop connections to Vietnam via Delhi for travelers originating from the U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe. This will help strengthen Air India’s vision to make Delhi the Truly International and transit hub.
According to Google Flights data, the DEL-SGN route is served by Vietnamese carriers like Vietnam Airlines and VietJet. This will be the first time that any Indian airline will serve this sector.

Currently, Air India offers direct flights between India and four destinations in Southeast Asia, specifically Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket in Thailand, and Yangon in Myanmar.
Furthermore, Air India’s recently established route connecting Delhi and Phuket contributes to the overall air-seat capacity between Thailand and India in 2023, totaling 2,438,043 seats.
