CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) is set to inaugurate its latest route from Newark (EWR) to Marrakesh (RAK), Morrocco, on October 24, operating three times a week and has started the sale now.
Currently, American Airlines (AA) and Royal Air Maroc Airlines (AT) operate direct flights between the United States (US) and Morrocco. However, no airline has operated a non-stop flight between EWR-RAK until now.
United Newark to Marrakesh Flights
If you want to travel to Marrakesh from the US, you must take a flight with a stop in Europe or sometimes multiple stops across Europe. Usually, it takes around 12-13 hours to reach RAK with a stop.
However, direct flights from United Airlines will take around 7 hours and 30 minutes.
The distance between Newark, US & Marrakech, Morocco, is around 5900 km (Approx 3664 miles). Furthermore, the EWR time is 4 hours behind Marrakech.
The Chicago-based carrier will deploy its Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Here’s the flight schedule:
- Flight UA628 will depart from EWR at 9:45 PM and arrive at RAK at 10:20 AM the following day.
- Flight UA627 will depart from RAK at 12:20 PM and arrive at EWR at 4:25 PM.
United’s Boeing 767-300ER aircraft features 46 United Polaris® business class seats and 22 United Premium Plus® seats, offering travelers enhanced choices for their journey.
This latest offering strengthens United’s footprint in Africa, complementing its current flights to Accra, Ghana; Lagos, Nigeria; and Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.
New International Routes
Tokyo/Narita-Cebu, Philippines
United Airlines is enhancing its footprint in the Philippines by introducing a new year-round, non-stop service from Tokyo-Narita on July 31. United will be the sole U.S. carrier providing flights to Cebu, offering daily services on 737-800 aircraft.
These flights will offer seamless connections from United’s services originating from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Newark-New York, and Houston to Tokyo-Narita.
Additionally, United remains the only U.S. carrier offering transpacific flights to the Philippines, with daily flights connecting San Francisco and Manila. Moreover, United Airlines operates flights to Manila from Guam and Palau.
Houston-Medellin, Colombia
United Airlines will inaugurate non-stop flights to Medellin, Colombia, from Houston, marking the first time the airline has offered such a service. Commencing on October 27, United will operate daily flights using Boeing 737 aircraft.
This expansion into Medellin enhances United’s footprint in Colombia, supplementing its existing routes from Houston and Newark to Bogota. With this addition, United will serve a total of 52 destinations in Latin America from Houston.
