DUBAI- flydubai (FZ), the Dubai-based airline, has revealed the introduction of four new services, expanding its European network to encompass 43 destinations across 21 countries.
In a milestone move, flydubai becomes the inaugural UAE national carrier to offer direct flights to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) starting from August 2, 2024.

The announcement also signifies the airline’s inaugural entry into the Baltic region, with direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia set to commence on October 11, along with services to Tallinn Airport (TLL) in Estonia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania starting from October 12, 2024.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, the Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, expressed pride in the airline’s expanding network through the introduction of new routes. He highlighted the achievement of establishing a diverse network comprising 126 destinations, with 60% of them having limited or no previous connections to Dubai.
Al Ghaith emphasized that the new services to the Baltic region and Basel would facilitate convenient travel through Dubai’s aviation hub, benefiting passengers visiting Dubai or connecting seamlessly to the flydubai network and beyond with their codeshare partner Emirates.
Jeyhun Efendi, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, commented on the significance of the European market for the airline.
He reiterated flydubai’s commitment to providing passengers with a convenient and reliable service featuring an excellent onboard product and overall experience.
Efendi highlighted that the addition of Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius to their network would attract more travelers from Europe, offering seamless connections to various destinations, including Malaysia, the Maldives, Mombasa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Zanzibar.

Positioned on the borders of northwest Switzerland, the Alsace historical region in France, and Baden-Württemberg in Germany, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg stands as a distinctive gateway to an array of tourist attractions spanning three different countries.
Nestled along the Rhine River, Basel is renowned as Switzerland’s cultural capital. Recognized for its numerous museums and charming fusion of historic and contemporary architecture, Basel serves as a portal to the scenic landscapes of Switzerland’s countryside.
Riga in Latvia, Tallinn in Estonia, and Vilnius in Lithuania, all being capital cities of their respective Baltic states, boast impressive architecture, with their Old Towns holding the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
flydubai is set to deploy its latest aircraft on these routes, featuring lie-flat seats, internationally-inspired menus, and extensive entertainment options in Business Class. In Economy Class, the seats are meticulously designed to optimize space and ensure passenger comfort.
Codeshare with Emirates
Flights on these routes will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB). Emirates (EK) is set to codeshare on these routes, providing passengers with increased connectivity options through Dubai’s international aviation hub.
For the DXB to BSL route, return Business Class fares commence from AED 13,000, while Economy Class Lite fares start from AED 1,500. Returning from BSL to DXB, Business Class fares start from CHF 3,325, and Economy Class Lite fares start from CHF 500.
On the DXB to RIX route, return Business Class fares begin at AED 7,060, and Economy Class Lite fares start from AED 1,920. Returning from RIX to DXB, Business Class fares start from EUR 1,370, with Economy Class Lite fares starting from EUR 380.
For the DXB to TLL route, return Business Class fares start from AED 10,400, and Economy Class Lite fares begin at AED 2,100. On the TLL to DXB route, Business Class fares start from EUR 2,100, and Economy Class Lite fares start from EUR 490.
Finally, on the DXB to VNO route, return Business Class fares start from AED 7,060, and Economy Class Lite fares commence from AED 2,180. Returning from VNO to DXB, Business Class fares start at EUR 1,370, and Economy Class Lite fares begin at EUR 380.
