ABUJA- The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has granted Air Peace (P4) approval for international flights to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, USA.
This approval follows a request submitted by Air Peace on January 12, 2024, seeking clearance for flights to New York.

In a letter dated February 9, 2024, the Ministry, represented by Director H.T. Ejibunu, communicated the approval to Air Peace.
The letter, identified by reference number FMA/ATMD/0186/S.5/X/696, stated that the approval is in accordance with the prevailing ‘Open Skies’ agreement between Nigeria and the United States.
It states: “I am directed to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated January 12, 2024, on the above subject and convey the minister’s approval for the designation of Air Peace Limited to operate commercial international flights into and out of John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, United States of America.”
Pending FAA and DOT Approval
Air Peace is advised to coordinate with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States to obtain necessary documentation before initiating operations.
Additionally, the airline is instructed to adhere to Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) 2023 part 18.5.11 and collaborate with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to fulfil the stipulated requirements.
Air Peace currently operates regional and international flights, serving destinations such as Cameroon (Douala), Gambia, Ghana (Accra), Liberia (Monrovia), Senegal (Dakar), Sierra Leone, Togo, India, South Africa (Johannesburg), and Cote d’Ivoire.
The airline is based in Lagos Murtala Muhammed International (LOS / DNMM) Airport, Nigeria and has a fleet of 30 aircraft. Further, the airline has three Boeing 777 aircraft and is likely to deploy them on the New York sector.
