DUBLIN- On February 11th, 2024, Ryanair (FR), the leading airline in Europe, announced an extension of its maintenance agreement with Joramco, the MRO provider located in Jordan and the engineering division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd.
This extension entails Ryanair undertaking 10 lines of heavy maintenance over the next decade at Joramco’s MRO facility in Amman, Jordan.
Ryanair Joramco Maintenance Partnership
As Ryanair’s fleet is projected to surpass 800 aircraft by the end of the decade, this agreement provides flexibility in selecting locations for winter maintenance seasons.
The announcement follows Joramco’s completion of its 100th C check for Ryanair this week. Joramco’s expansive 110,000-square-meter facility will support the heavy maintenance needs of Ryanair’s growing fleet, including the recent order for 300 Boeing 737 MAX-10 aircraft.
This expansion is part of Ryanair’s plan to reach over 300 million passengers annually by 2034, utilizing these fuel-efficient, technologically advanced aircraft that offer 21% more seats, consume 20% less fuel, and produce 50% less noise.
While Ryanair employs a combination of internal facilities and external suppliers for heavy maintenance, this agreement with Joramco complements the airline’s ongoing investment in internal facilities. Together, these measures ensure that Ryanair’s maintenance requirements are well-covered in the coming years.
Executive Remarks
Neal McMahon, Chief Operations Officer of Ryanair, expressed his satisfaction with the extended agreement with Joramco:
“We are thrilled to announce the extension of our agreement with Joramco for 10 maintenance lines over the next decade. Joramco has consistently demonstrated outstanding standards in its state-of-the-art facilities, and we are pleased to prolong our partnership for the next 10 years, aligning with our fleet expansion to over 800 aircraft. The enduring strength of this relationship is evident this week, with Joramco successfully completing the 100th C check for Ryanair aircraft.”
Fraser Currie, Chief Executive Officer of Joramco, commented on the agreement:
“After the successful completion of Joramco’s 100th C check for Ryanair, we are delighted to secure an additional 10 years starting from 2024, covering 10 maintenance lines. This agreement underscores our dedication to providing safe and reliable maintenance services to Ryanair’s fleet. It solidifies the strategic partnership between Ryanair and Joramco, ensuring efficient and timely C checks for Ryanair’s expanding fleet.”
