Japan Airlines Makes New Changes to Australia and America Schedule

TOKYO- This week, Japan Airlines (JL) initiated a step-by-step process of updating its service offerings to the Americas and Australia for the Northern Summer 2024 season.

Furthermore, the Tokyo-based carrier has recently completed the maiden flight of its first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft by deploying it on the New York (JFK)-Tokyo Haneda (HND) route.

Japan Airlines Australia and America Schedule

The planned adjustments, as of February 1, 2024, are as follows:

• Tokyo Haneda – San Francisco: The 777-300ER will be replaced by the following aircraft on a daily basis with a 787-9 from April 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024, and a 787-8 from June 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024. This change was already filed prior to recent updates.
• Tokyo Haneda – Sydney: Starting from May 31, 2024, the 777-300ER will replace the 787-9 on a daily basis. The 777 was previously scheduled for March 31, 2024, to April 30, 2024.
• Tokyo Narita – Honolulu: There will be a temporary service suspension from April 8, 2024, to April 24, 2024, except for April 13, 2024, when it will be operated by a 787-8. From July 1, 2024, to August 3, 2024, the 787-8 will replace the 767-300ER on a daily basis. From August 4, 2024, to September 1, 2024, 4 out of 7 weekly flights will be operated by a 787-8, replacing the 767-300ER.
• Tokyo Narita – Kona: Service will resume from July 22, 2024, to August 20, 2024, with 4 weekly flights operated by a 767.
• Tokyo Narita – Los Angeles: The 787-9 will replace the -8 during the following periods: April 1, 2024, to April 30, 2024, and June 2, 2024, to July 31, 2024.
• Tokyo Narita – San Diego: From July 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024, there will be an increase from 4 to 7 weekly flights, operated by a 787-8. This change was previously reported.
• Tokyo Narita – San Francisco: From May 1, 2024, to June 1, 2024, the 787-9 will replace the -8 on a daily basis.
• Tokyo Narita – Seattle: From May 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024, the 787-8 will replace the -9 on a daily basis. This change was already filed prior to recent updates.
• Tokyo Narita – Vancouver: The 787-8 will replace the 767-300ER during the following periods: July 31, 2024, to August 31, 2024, and October 1, 2024, to October 26, 2024.
