CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) has updated its Northern Summer 2024 schedule and added new routes to Alaska and Canada with Boeing 737 MAX and Embraer E175.
The Chicago-based carrier flies to around 110+ destinations, four of them in Canada and two in Alaska.
United Airlines Alaska Routes
In the upcoming summer season of 2024, United Airlines has outlined plans to enhance its services to Alaska. This includes the introduction of a new nonstop route from Washington Dulles and the resumption of services to Fairbanks.
Denver (DEN) to Fairbanks (FAI) service is scheduled to operate from May 23, 2024, to September 9, 2024, with one daily flight utilizing a 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This route was last served in the summer of 2019 with four weekly flights. The specific flight details are as follows:
- UA1293 departing from Denver at 19:03, arriving in Fairbanks at 22:42 using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
- UA1186 departing from Fairbanks at 23:44, arriving in Denver at 07:04 the next day using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
Similarly, the Washington Dulles (IAD) to Anchorage (ANC) service is scheduled to run from May 23, 2024, to September 2, 2024, with one daily flight operated by a 737 MAX 8. The flight details are as follows:
- UA1471 departing from Washington Dulles at 17:44, arriving in Anchorage at 21:28 using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
- UA1698 departing from Anchorage at 20:05, arriving in Washington Dulles at 07:07 the next day using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
Apart from the two routes mentioned earlier, United Airlines operates the following routes to Alaska, with schedules based on July 2024 as of January 18, 2024:
- Chicago O’Hare to Anchorage: Two daily flights utilizing the 737 MAX 8.
- Denver to Anchorage: Two daily flights operated with the 737 MAX 8.
- Houston to Anchorage: One daily flight employing the 737 MAX 8.
- Newark to Anchorage: One daily flight serviced by the 737 MAX 8.
- San Francisco to Anchorage: One daily flight utilizing the 737 MAX 8.
New Routes to Canada
Starting from May 23, 2024, the Newark (EWR) to Halifax (YHZ) route will see two daily flights operated by Embraer E175 aircraft (Republic Airways), marking a revival since its last service in March 2020. The flight details are as follows:
- UA3440 departing from Newark at 11:07, arriving in Halifax at 14:06 using Embraer E175 (Operated daily).
- UA3620 departing from Newark at 20:19, arriving in Halifax at 23:30 using Embraer E175 (Operated daily).
Additionally, the Washington Dulles to Vancouver route is scheduled to run from May 2, 2024, to September 25, 2024, with one daily flight serviced by a 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This route, last served until the summer of 2019, will now be reinstated. The flight details are as follows:
- UA400 departing from Washington Dulles at 08:26, arriving in Vancouver at 11:06 using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
- UA1606 departing from Vancouver at 22:35, arriving in Washington Dulles at 06:41 the next day using a 737 MAX 8 (Operated daily).
