DELHI- India’s largest domestic airline, IndiGo (6E), is set to make history by becoming the inaugural airline to operate from the soon-to-be-inaugurated Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport (AYJ) in Ayodhya.
The inaugural flight originating from Delhi is scheduled to land in Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. Subsequently, regular commercial operations for a direct flight will commence between Delhi and Ayodhya starting January 06, 2024. Additionally, starting January 11, 2024, IndiGo will introduce tri-weekly flights connecting Ahmedabad and Ayodhya.

Ayodhya is set to assume a prominent role in India as it prepares for grand celebrations leading up to the consecration of the Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh.
The state government has organized elaborate festivities scheduled to commence on January 14 and extend until February 22.
As the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22, 2024, the city expects a significant surge in travel.
The introduction of these new flight routes is designed to offer pilgrims direct connectivity to Ayodhya from both Delhi and Ahmedabad, enhancing accessibility across IndiGo’s extensive network that spans India and overseas.
