SINGAPORE- In November and December 2023, flag carrier Singapore Airlines (SQ) is gradually reintroducing flights to more destinations in Mainland China, according to the airline’s announcement.
The Singaporean carrier will deploy its youngest Boeing 737 MAX fleet to serve this route. Further, the airline has a fleet of 16 737 MAXs and has recently received the 1000th 787 Dreamliner.

Singapore Restarts China Flights
Singapore Airlines will resume services to several destinations in Mainland China as reported by Aeroroutes and are as follows:
- Singapore – Chengdu Tianfu:
- Effective from 3rd December 2023
- Initially, 4 weekly flights with 737 MAX 8 (increasing to 1 daily from 1st January 2024, and then 3 weekly from 31st January 2024)
- The route was temporarily suspended from 25th October 2023 to 2nd December 2023
- Flight schedule:
- SQ844 SIN 02:10 – 07:00 TFU 7M8 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- SQ845 TFU 08:15 – 13:10 SIN 7M8 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- Singapore – Chongqing:
- Effective from 26th November 2023
- 3 weekly flights with 737 MAX 8
- Flight schedule:
- SQ818 SIN 18:40 – 23:25 CKG 7M8 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- SQ819 CKG 00:40 – 05:35 SIN 7M8 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- Singapore – Shenzhen:
- Effective from 26th November 2023
- 1 daily flight with 737 MAX 8
- Flight schedule:
- SQ856 SIN 21:30 – 01:40+1 SZX 7M8 daily
- SQ857 SZX 02:50 – 06:50 SIN 7M8 daily
- Singapore – Xiamen:
- From 3rd December 2023 to 29th January 2024
- 1 daily flight with 737 MAX 8
- Flight schedule:
- SQ868 SIN 08:15 – 12:25 XMN 7M8 daily
- SQ869 XMN 13:40 – 18:45 SIN 7M8 daily

Additional Flights to Hyderabad
Recently, GMR Hyderabad International Airport (HYD) celebrated Singapore Airlines’ 20th Anniversary by unveiling a series of new flights.
These additional flight services are aimed at meeting the increasing demand for convenient long-haul air travel to Singapore, serving as a convenient stopover for travelers heading to destinations in Australia, New Zealand, and Far East Asia
Singapore Airlines Flight SQ 519 will take off from Hyderabad at 11:20 AM (IST) and reach Singapore at 6:20 PM (Singapore Standard Time). The return journey, Singapore Airlines Flight SQ 518, will depart from Singapore at 8:00 AM (Singapore Standard Time) and arrive in Hyderabad at 10:15 AM (IST).
These five weekly nonstop flights will significantly expand connectivity options for passengers traveling from Hyderabad to Singapore and other destinations.
The utilization of wide-body aircraft A350-900 for the daily evening departure flight SQ522/SQ523 will result in an improved travel experience for passengers in the economy class.
To mark the 20th Anniversary of the airline, senior officials from GHIAL, in collaboration with key personnel from Singapore Airlines and other airport stakeholders, gathered at the terminal to commemorate this milestone.
