KARNATAKA- Mangaluru International Airport (IXE) secured a prestigious gold accolade during the Total Quality Management (TQM) summit, hosted by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) for their innovative Kaizen-Box in Box concept in Bengaluru on October 7th.
A total of 103 teams representing various regions across India competed for the highest honors at this national gathering. This remarkable gold award at the TQM India Summit has also allowed the airport to partake in the global-level TQM competition scheduled for 2024.

The innovative Box-in-Box concept, devised by Team Prime Kaizen, composed of employees from the airport’s commercial and quality departments, is laser-focused on elevating passenger satisfaction through enhanced amenities while maintaining a strong emphasis on revenue generation.
This strategic commercial development blueprint was conceived and executed to provide passengers with top-tier amenities while simultaneously offering a unique retail and food and beverage experience.
In a separate achievement, Sachin Kumar Gupta, the site finance controller at the airport, was recognized with the ‘Finance Transformations Leader of the Year’ award at the 10th edition of the Future of Finance Summit and Awards 2023, held on October 6th in Bengaluru.
