DOHA- Flag carrier Qatar Airways (QR) announced a new codeshare partnership with Xiamen Airlines (MF), marking the first Chinese airline to operate nonstop passenger flights from Mainland China to Qatar.
Under this collaborative agreement, Xiamen Airlines will initiate daily flights between Beijing’s Daxing International Airport and Hamad International Airport, the home base of Qatar Airways. These flights will be operated using the airline’s modern and advanced Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Qatar Airways Xiamen Codeshare
Scheduled to commence on October 20, 2023, these flights will arrive in Doha at 22:45 and depart at 02:00, providing passengers with excellent connections to key markets within Qatar Airways’ extensive global network beyond Doha. These destinations span across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Additionally, Xiamen Airlines will introduce two weekly flights from Xiamen, a special economic zone in Fujian Sheng province, to Doha.
These flights will commence on October 31, 2023, and will offer the same seamless connectivity to Qatar Airways’ network as the Beijing flights. Passengers flying from Xiamen will arrive in Doha at 05:00 and depart in the evening at 19:30.
Qatar Airways will engage in a codeshare agreement with these newly introduced flights, significantly bolstering its presence in Mainland China, where it currently serves six destinations with a total of 31 weekly flights.
Furthermore, the airline operates double daily flights to Hong Kong. As part of this newfound collaboration, Xiamen Airlines will apply its marketing code to Qatar Airways flights to and from Beijing.
Established in 1984, Xiamen Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance and is renowned for its exceptional service standards and operational excellence. It boasts an extensive network of 105 destinations across China and around the globe.
The newly launched direct services connecting Beijing to Doha will be operated by a Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring a two-class configuration for 287 passengers. This includes 30 Business class seats and 257 Economy class seats.
Additionally, the Xiamen-Doha-Xiamen route operated by a Boeing 787-8 aircraft will offer seating for 237 passengers across three classes, including 4 seats in First Class, 18 in Business Class, and 215 in Economy Class.
