LONDON- A passenger required urgent medical attention mid-air near Manchester during an easyJet (U2) flight (EZY312) operated using Airbus A319 from London Stansted (STN) to Edinburgh (EDI), following this flight crew made an emergency landing at Liverpool (LPL).
As a result, an “emergency alert” was issued, and the plane made an abrupt diversion to Liverpool John Lennon Airport while flying over the Peak District.
Further, the incident occurred during the evening, shortly after the flight’s departure, at approximately 5:20 PM on July 30, 2023.

According to the flight path data, the aircraft turned over Manchester and landed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport at around 6 PM. RadarBox confirmed that an emergency alert was issued, leading to the aircraft’s sudden diversion to Liverpool.
As per the easyJet’s live flight checker online, a second follow-on flight was arranged for passengers to reach Edinburgh after the diversion eventually.
The reason for the diversion was cited as a ‘passenger incident’ on board. The airline apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers, explaining that the disruption was considered an extraordinary circumstance and outside its control.
In an official statement, easyJet informed MailOnline that flight EZY312 from London Stansted to Edinburgh was diverted to Liverpool because a passenger required urgent medical assistance.
The airline emphasized that its customers and crew’s safety and well-being remain their top priority.
A similar incident occurred on Air India (AI) Melbourne-Delhi Flight earlier today.
