GOA- Tata-owned Indian FSC, Air India (AI), has announced the launch of new flights from New Goa Airport in Mopa. Subsequently, the launch of Goa Mopa (GOX) to London Gatwick (LGW) will make Air India the first carrier to fly internationally from the GOX.
In retro style, the airline announced this on its social media platforms. Subsequently, the carrier wrote, “To celebrate, inspired by Mario Miranda, a tribute to – our favorite artist from Goa and forever a part of the Air India art legacy.”
Air India New Goa Gatwick Flight
Air India will begin operating international flights from the newly launched Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Goa on July 21, 2023. The airline will fly to Gatwick Airport in London three times a week.
The flights will be a tribute to Mario Miranda, a famous Goan artist who is also part of Air India’s art legacy.
Air India will be the first carrier to fly internationally from the MIA. Subsequently, the airline will deploy its Boeing 787 Dreamliner to serve passengers on this route.
Airlines operate three weekly flights between Old Goa Airport (GOI) and Gatwick (LGW). But according to Aviation A2Z source, the airline will replace this service with New GOX-LGW.
The new flights will have the same Air India AI145 flight number as GOI-LGW has, so it’s clear that they will transfer the flight from the old to the new Goa airport.
According to TOI, Airport will likely deploy around 250 staff to cater to enhanced service to its customers. This includes around 90 state police guards; the remaining will be from other departments such as Immigration and Customs.
Flight and Fares Details
Air India’s new GOX-LGW Flight AI145 fares start at 39,860 INR for Economy and 161,009 INR for Business class passengers. Further, it will take around ten hours to reach from one GOX to LGW.
While for passengers booking LGW to GOX flight AI146, the Economy fares are around 756 (Roughly 80,000 INR). Subsequently, for Business class, it’s around 1828 (Roughly 195,000 INR).
When I tried booking a round-trip flight from GOX and LGW, the flight didn’t show up. They might update them in the coming time.
