          PARIS- Singapore Airlines (SQ) has been honored with the prestigious title of World’s Best Airline at the 2023 World Airline Awards, marking its fifth win in the 23-year history of the awards.

          The awards ceremony took place at the iconic Air and Space Museum during the Paris Air Show, with over 350 attendees from airlines worldwide, including numerous CEOs, Presidents, and Senior Management.

          Known as the aviation industry’s “Oscars,” the World Airline Awards are independent and impartial, with all costs covered by the organizers, Skytrax.

          Singapore Airlines Wins Skytrax World’s Best Airline

          Mr. Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Airlines, accepted the World’s Best Airline award on behalf of the airline in Paris on June 20, 2023.

          Mr. Goh expressed gratitude to the airline’s dedicated employees who worked tirelessly and made sacrifices to ensure Singapore Airlines was prepared for the recovery in air travel.

          He also thanked the customers for their enduring loyalty and support throughout the pandemic, which helped the airline overcome unprecedented challenges.

          Mr. Goh emphasized Singapore Airlines’ commitment to innovation, investment in industry-leading products and services, and providing customers with a world-class travel experience.

          Other Winners Skytrax Airlines Winners

          Qatar Airways, a seven-time Airline of the Year award winner, secured the second position globally for 2023, followed by ANA All Nippon Airways in third place. Emirates and Japan Airlines ranked fourth and fifth among the more than 325 airlines included in the survey results.

          The awards recognized various categories, with Qatar Airways dominating in business class and winning multiple accolades. Singapore Airlines excelled in the first-class category and was recognized as the Best Airline in Asia. ANA All Nippon Airways received awards for the World’s Best Airport Services and the World’s Cleanest Airline. Other notable winners included AirAsia as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, Volotea as the Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe, and Air Canada as the World’s Most Family Friendly Airline.

          Garuda Indonesia was recognized for having the World’s Best Cabin Staff, while Plaza Premium retained its title as the World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge operator. Cathay Pacific secured the award for the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment for the first time, and EVA Air won in the premium economy class category.

          Regional winners included Bangkok Airways as the World’s Best Regional Airline, Rex Airlines as the Best Regional Airline in Australia/Pacific, Fiji Airways as the Best Airline in Australia/Pacific, Vistara as the Best Airline in India/South Asia, and Delta Air Lines as the Best Airline in North America.

          Ethiopian Airlines secured the Best Airline in Africa award for the sixth time, and Hainan Airlines received the Best Airline in China award for the 12th time, along with the Best Airline Staff in China award.

          The World Airline Awards recognize excellence in the airline industry, highlighting outstanding service, cabin quality, and customer satisfaction across different categories.

          About Skytrax

          Introduced in 1999, the World Airline Awards are renowned for their complete independence and impartiality. They were established to conduct a comprehensive global customer satisfaction study.

          Travelers from around the world participate in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey, playing a crucial role in determining the award winners.

          Skytrax, the organizer of the awards, covers all the costs associated with the survey and the awards event.

          Airlines are not required to pay any entry or registration fees. Furthermore, there are no charges for using the Award logos and accessing the results.

          The online customer survey took place from September 2022 to May 2023, offering participants the option to provide feedback in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese.

          The survey attracted participation from over 100 nationalities, ensuring a diverse and inclusive representation of opinions. Rigorous screening procedures were implemented to identify and eliminate duplicate, suspicious, or ineligible entries.

          The final Award results encompass more than 325 airlines, showcasing a comprehensive assessment of the industry.
