SCOTLAND- Scottish regional airline, Loganair (LM) is pleased to demonstrate its support for the LGBTQIA+ community by officially introducing the Pride Jet, a groundbreaking initiative within the UK airline industry.
The Embraer 145 aircraft has been adorned with vibrant Pride colors. Further, it will now traverse Loganair’s extensive route network. Prominently showcasing the airline’s dedication to fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive workplace for all employees.
The aircraft has the registration G-SAJE and is more than 22 years old. Further, it has been part of Loganair for the last four years.
Prior to its inaugural flight donning the new livery, the Embraer Regional Jet remained discreetly housed in Loganair’s hangar in Glasgow. The aircraft proudly displays the airline’s iconic Tartan Tail. Further, the symbolic rainbow flag symbolizes unity and diversity.
Loganair New Pride Jet
The unveiling of the Pride Jet coincides with the implementation of Loganair’s Flyings For All program. Introduced in the previous year, this initiative is guided by three key objectives:
- Acknowledging and providing support to LGBTQIA+ individuals within the Loganair community. Further, including employees, customers, and partners collaborating with the airline’s suppliers.
- Promoting increased opportunities for female team members across various roles within the airline. Further fostering gender diversity and inclusivity.
- Prioritizing the mental well-being of employees by implementing a comprehensive range of initiatives aimed at supporting and nurturing their mental health.
The launch of the Pride Jet represents a significant milestone in Loganair’s commitment to these core objectives. Subsequently demonstrating the airline’s dedication to equality, diversity, and the overall well-being of its community.
Supporting LGBTQIA+ Community
As part of Loganair’s ongoing LGBTQIA+ campaign, the newly unveiled Pride Jet will grace the skies across the airline’s extensive network.
Notably, this includes destinations where Pride events have only recently emerged. Further marking significant progress compared to regions where such celebrations have been established for many years.
Loganair remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a safe and supportive working environment where all employees, particularly those from minority backgrounds, can thrive and flourish.
In a recent company-wide survey, an impressive 82% of respondents—representing over three-quarters of Loganair employees—expressed their belief that individuals from diverse backgrounds can achieve success within the organization.
Moreover, Loganair proudly announces its sponsorship of this year’s Northern Pride in Newcastle, scheduled for July 22nd to 23rd.
The airline has even stationed an additional aircraft at the event. Further anticipating a notable increase in customer volume as it connects various destinations across the UK and Norway from its home base in the North East.
Loganair proudly takes on the role of the official airline partner for Northern Pride. Further strengthening its commitment to the festival’s mission.
As part of this partnership, Loganair is providing volunteer staff to support the festival’s health and wellbeing zones, which have become a prominent highlight of the event.
Recognizing the importance of promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, Loganair has made a substantial investment in its Flying’s for All Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion training course.
This comprehensive program will be rolled out to every airline staff member. Regardless of their role, over the upcoming year.
By ensuring that all employees receive this training, Loganair aims to foster a workplace culture that embraces and celebrates the unique contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
