MUMBAI- May 19 2023, AerCap Holdings has successfully fulfilled its lease agreement with Tata-backed Air India (AI) by delivering four brand new Airbus A321neo aircraft.
These aircraft, equipped with CFM LEAP-1A engines, mark the introduction of the first A321neo aircraft into the Air India fleet.
AerCap Delivers Four A321neo to Air India
Peter Anderson, the Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap, expressed his enthusiasm for Air India’s fleet transformation and the airline’s return to Tata Group ownership.
He stated, “It is a very exciting time for Air India as it returns to Tata Group ownership. Further transitions its fleet to meet the rapidly growing Indian aviation market. Subsequently, AerCap is delighted to play a role in Air India’s fleet transformation by providing its first tranche of NEO aircraft on operating lease. According to Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer of Air India, the addition of these four newly leased Airbus A321neo aircraft is a significant milestone in the airline’s ongoing transformation.
